Re: Asset Copyright Information

Using the assets in your movie would always be okay unless otherwise stated on the description of the model/set/etc. Same goes for commercial use - unless there's a specific instruction about copyright, all you should need to do is give credit. Claiming ownership of other people's stuff or reselling...

Re: auto lineup objects

You can turn snapping on (Tools menu > Enable Snapping) before you create/import the pieces and this will keep them aligned to 45 degree increments when rotated, but...there's not much point as the art style of the Muvizu props is always misaligned and slanted to make them more wonky and therefore c...

Re: unrealistic shadows on objects created on Sketchup

Thanks Doc, it's just the links on the Muvizu home page that no longer work then. Good to know the wiki lives!

Re: unrealistic shadows on objects created on Sketchup

This is a common problem with the way Muvizu renders shadows on certain geometries. To fix it, you have Fazz it - Fazzing is the unofficial name we gave it after user Fazz68 pointed out that you just have to use the Offset tool to create an inner edge on problem surfaces. There used to be a wiki ent...

Re: direct x and lipsync woe

Hi Drewi

The dialogue system has been a bit buggy for ages, but the DirectX 11 thing was related to which version of windows you're running, I seem to remember - windows 10 being the most problematic. Check that your video card supports it, and its up to date drivers wise.

Re: copy & paste character and character actions

Create a set with half of the audience in it, doing their thing, up to the limit of what your machine can handle. Create another copy of that set but with the other half of the audience doing their thing, so you effectively double the apparent performance. Then combine both bits of footage later in ...

Re: copy & paste character and character actions

Simple answer is no, you can't. Much requested feature, but there's no way to duplicate the timeline of any character. You can copy and paste characters, but the newly created timeline will always be blank.

Re: best software to use 2018

I don't think they'll update the program. They might make additional packs of objects or characters, but actually changing how the program works doesn't look likely. I hope they prove me wrong :)

Re: best software to use 2018

.ase files are old and outdated and not commonly supported by 3d programs. Your best bet is blender - you can get an ASE exporter for it, or just use FBX instead (which is what I do). You can load anything into blender and then export it as an FBX that Muvizu can open... in theory :)
