Missing compression codecs in legacy 2013 version of Muvizu

Post by StarHopper »

A number of my students who have installed this old version of Muvizu at home are reporting that they don't have access to any of the video compression codecs:

Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

They show up fine on the college machines as well as my ASUS Gamers Republic laptop.

Tell them to install the k-lite codec pack from here : http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_l ... c_pack.htm

It's the big green button at the top, you can't miss it :)

Actually....I had a student try this codec pack and it didn't work.

His solution was to use Virtualdub http://www.virtualdub.org/download.html

Not only does it provided the missing compression codecs, it also fixes the default Uncompressed version, which won't load into Adboe Premiere, simply by re-saving it.

Cool, as long as it works :) Virtualdub would have provided it's own codecs, so the solution is the same but just a different path to get there.
