Educational License Verification Fail

Post by StarHopper »

Hello,

I planned to use Muvizu in the Cinematics class which is part the Game Development program at a community college where I teach.

We purchased an educational license early in the year with plans to use the software this fall. We were unaware of the pending bankruptcy and the discontinued service that followed.

After not being able to access the Play+ features on my personal copy of the software, I had the college admin check our educational version and those licenses are not working either.

If there's any way this can be resolved, I would great appreciate it as would my students.

I can be reached via email at paquetg(at)algonquincollege(.)com

Posting here rather than on Facebook so it's easier for others to find. Thanks to Ikes for this solution.
"If you look in MuvizuGame/Logs/Persistant.log there will be a line with the mac address, like this:

LicenceManager.Create start
LicenceManager.InitLicenceSystem start
LicenceManager.InitLicenceSystem finish
LicenceManager.EvaluateLicenceFile start
LicenceSystemHostidCompare start
Licence:
0, , XXXXXXXXXXXX (XXX should be your MAC address)
System:
(...)" -Ikes

Once you have this Mac address, you can use the tmac software to spoof that address to activate your copy of Muvizu.

Using the mac address from the log file in conjunction with TMAC v6 worked!

I'm surprised that I only had to run the application once and it remains consistent even after restarting my computer.

A number of websites, including this one, weren't loading but that issue was cleared with the restart :D

I'm so grateful that this group exists and allows for us serious users to keep producing our movies.
