What material settings are needed in Blender to ensure that models render smooth rather than faceted?

Set your smoothing to Face and it should work as expected.

Hi,
On the export options of the fbx you should set smoothing to face, it will say "Normals Only" on default.

Thanks Ikes - also it would be best to set the scale to something like 0.20 since the Unreal engine scales things really small by default. Also, you only need the Mesh box selected (from the blue row across the top).

Thanks Ziggy, I did run into the scale issue
Ikes, I don't have the same options displayed when Exporting a FBX:

That's just the way blender is formatting the boxes - you'll find the smoothing options in the Geometries tab, next to Main.

I created a Muvizu Preset with these parameters.
The Forward and Up options don't have any effect so I also have to rotate my model 180 degrees around the Z axis in Blender for it to be facing forward when imported.
