3D output

Has anybody here produced 3D (stereoscopic) output with Muvizu? I've started doing this by rigging two cameras close together and have achieved decent results when the cameras are not moving. What I'd like do is group these two cameras (works well) and also direct their movement as a group (doesn't work at all for me).

I also wonder if there is a way to restrict the turning of this group of cameras to the vertical axis, since horizontal alignment is crucial for stereoscopic content and it gets messed up very easily when I try to turn the cameras to a new angle.

Any ideas and informations on stereoscopic output would be valuable for me. If anyone is interested I could show my results so far in this thread or in the gallery.

Hi there!

I've done quite a lot of experimenting with 360 videos and stills with Muvizu including some stereoscopic work.

Here's a link to my most recent piece: https://flic.kr/p/232K1Ks

The easiest way to keep a camera level is to Enable snappingg in the Tools menu.

A more elaborate system involves grouping two carefully spaced cameras with an invisible cylinder with the Keep upright option enabled. I've just added my Muvizu set for this Stereoscopic camera Rig to the Assets area of this site. Unfortunately, Group objects cannot be animated.

However, you can still create some very effective 360 videos without camera movement such as this hide & seek game that I had fun making:

I've just had a go with that rig and it's very impressive. Such a shame that you can't move them both at the same time but that's just a limitation built into Muvizu. It might be possible to move them both at the same time with keyframing but I imagine that's very difficult.

Fman00 did a few 3D videos in the past but that was a few years ago now: https://www.youtube.com/user/00fman/vid ... shelf_id=0

Great stuff, the camera rig with the cylinder is very helpful! :)
I've also dabbled a bit in 360 videos, my "Happy New Year"-project was a 360 video out of Muvizu converted to a "tiny planet":

I've also tried to combine 360° and stereoscopic, but that turned out to be a lot more complicated :o :D

The Hide & Seek video is awesome! How did you get such high quality! I am having problems outputting 360 to a good quality. Been meaning to ask this question. Good job on the camera rig! Going to check it out, always had that in the back of my mind. Combining 360 + Camera Rig would be really cool! :)

Thanks! I had a lot of fun working out the logistics of the game as well as experimenting with the use of cuts.

In terms of quality, I render my 360 stills and videos at 4K resolution and had to upgrade my computer in order to do so. The current version of Adobe Premiere also supports 360 video editing so, that helped as well.

I use the Samsung Gear VR to view the final output.

I think it's hilarious that we came up with similar 360 ideas for New Years :D

There are some very cool uses of Muvizu on his channel. Moving camera in VR is problematic especially if you tilt the horizon in any way. It's best to limit it to simple slow movements and leave the rotation up to the viewer.

Hi,

If you have keyframes enabled, you can animate multiple objects or cameras at the same time like they are grouped. If you place a keyframe for both cameras on the timeline at the same position, you can Ctrl-select both and move them like a group.

Maybe also take a look at this topic on muvizu.com:

Thought so too!

I'm quite new to the whole VR-360-3D thing, but I think it's a fascinating field and Muvizu offers a lot of possibilities.

How? Most I can render stills (in Muvizu) is 1920. Do you make them larger after that?

Thanks!
